Here at Weldon Barber Spokane – 5 Mile we were thrilled to receive this email from a satisfied grandma!
Dana B. wrote: ”…my grandson was terrorized every time he got a hair cut — except for the last time when he went to your 5-mile location. Below are my daughter’s comments for you!
Mom,
You can tell Weldon Barber that we LOVE them!
During my husband’s recent deployment getting my son’s (he was 4 years old) hair cut was a crisis. I tried several places and couldn’t find anywhere that didn’t make a stressful situation worse. When my husband came home he grew is hair out and took our son to the Weldon at 5 Mile. They were *awesome!* They gave my husband a great haircut and most importantly took the time to make my son comfortable enough to get a haircut!! They are my family’s new favorite place…they are classy, patient, family oriented, and have a great waiting area for me!
Amber”

The Latest Information from Weldon Barber Spokane About Male Pattern Baldness
Are you noticing that your hair is beginning to thin along your hairline or at the top of your head? Then you may very well be suffering from a common condition in men called Androgenetic alopecia, known more commonly as male pattern baldness or male pattern hair loss. Incredible as it sounds, approximately 95% of all hair loss in men is attributed to male pattern baldness. And because myths about this condition abound, Weldon Barber Spokane wants to make sure you have the most up-to-date information on hair loss in men, what causes it, and what you can do about it.
Weldon Barber Spokane Helps You Distinguish Between Male Pattern Baldness and Normal Hair Loss
A Weldon barber will tell you that both men and women lose about 100 hairs every day, due to the fact that hair has a growth phase, a resting phase, and a shedding phase. It’s not unusual, then, to see strands of hair, that are probably in the resting or shedding phase of hair growth, in your comb or brush during your daily hair grooming. On the other hand, if you see a gradual recession of your hairline that looks like an “M,” as well as thinning at the crown of your head, then you may very well be in the beginning stages of male pattern baldness. Benefits of a getting a professional, straight razor shave at Weldon Barber Spokane – Part 2
Y ou’ve already learned that Weldon Barber Spokane, in all four locations, offers professional straight razor shaves. Plus, the benefits of a Weldon Barber Spokane shave were discussed in our last post. You get a relaxing experience that also exfoliates, stimulates the skin, and promotes the production of collagen … resulting in skin that looks and feels smoother and younger. Here are more benefits!
No More Nicks, Cuts, or Razor Burn
An important first step that our skilled barbers at Weldon Barber Spokane take is to moisten the beard with hot towels before beginning the actual shave. Most men simply apply soap or plain water to their beards, and then shave away, setting themselves up for cuts, nicks, and razor burn. A hot towel treatment before the shave softens the skin and stubborn facial hair and all but guarantees a smooth and effortless shave.
Our barbers also use shaving creams specifically designed to moisturize and protect the skin, ensuring a smooth shave and a healthy and youthful appearance. Furthermore, the extra-sharp blade guarantees a close shave, but not too close to irritate the skin.
Finally, our professional barbers use a single blade instead of multiple blades for the simple reason that multiple blades tend to pick up debris and rake it across the face, embedding it into the skin and causing irritation. You’ll discover just how much more comfortable it is when there is only one blade moving across your skin instead of two or three. Continue reading “Perfect Shave, Weldon Barber Spokane – Part 2” »

Benefits of a getting a professional, straight razor shave at Weldon Barber Spokane – Part 1
Weldon Barber Spokane offers straight razor shaves. Why? Shaving is a routine chore that most men engage in at least once every day. These same men, however, often avoid letting their barbers give them a professional shave after getting their hair cut, either because they feel they don’t have the time or simply won’t allow themselves to receive this extra pampering. These men simply aren’t aware of the many benefits of receiving a professional shave from one of our trained barbers at Weldon Barber Spokane.
A Masculine Version of a Facial for Men
Getting a “hot-towel, straight-razor” shave is the male equivalent of getting a facial. While men may balk at letting someone give them a facial, they can still receive the benefits of one by getting a professional shave instead.
Our barbers use a special, ultra-sharp straight razor which exfoliates the skin, removing the top layer of dead skin cells. Moving the straight razor across the skin, going WITH (instead of against) the grain of the beard, is a form of microdermabrasion which also stimulates new cell growth and collagen production. As a result, your skin will look and feel smoother and younger.
Look for part 2 of this Weldon Barber Spokane series about the benefits of a getting a straight razor shave. We’ll explain why you’ll have ‘No More Nicks, Cuts, or Razor Burn’ with a professional shave at Weldon Barber Spokane (and Spokane Valley).

Looking for a barber in Spokane? If so, like many people we don’t simply want to look for a place where we can get our hair cut regularly. As a matter of fact, finding a barber in Spokane where we can enjoy the entire experience is something that will benefit us in so many different ways. After all, feeling attractive may start with having your hair cut but it does not necessarily stop there. High quality barbers are able to offer you so much more than the typical cut and you would be amazed with how great you feel when you leave. Here are some things to consider so that you are happy with the Spokane barber that you choose.
One of the first things to consider is the selection of amenities that are available to you. Of course, you want to have a place where you can get a quality hair cut, but you should make sure that the barber shop offers you much more in the way of comfort. For example, the entire experience – including a masculine atmosphere, hot towels, relaxing scalp massage, and a perfect shave – is much more rejuvenating than simply having your hair cut. You will not only look sharp but feel attractive as well.
Have you ever considered the type of products that are available at these barber shops? This is also very important, bearing in mind the fact that many of the products are going to go directly onto your skin and your skin’s pores receive a huge percentage of the toxins that you are exposed to. The simple fact of the matter is, there are many barbers in Seattle that are going to offer you great products but you want to make sure that the product line itself is high end. Aveda products are well known for both their high quality and environmental sensitivity. This is true in the way that they are manufactured, as well as packaged. Weldon Barber, serving the Spokane area, is proud to partner with Aveda, bringing you excellent products developed specifically for men!
Although it certainly is possible for you to choose any number of places in Spokane in order to have your hair cut, finding a barber where you can enjoy the entire experience will benefit you in so many different ways. Give yourself a treat today and decide to find a Spokane barber that can take care of not only your skin, scalp, and hair but also provide a relaxing environment. You will find that you come out refreshed, renewed, and looking sharp as a result.
